How to Avoid Pain when Playing Violin

A popular question that I get all the time is how do you avoid pain when playing the violin?

The biggest thing to understand is that playing the violin shouldn't come with any pain whatsoever. I say this generally, as most of you are doing things that are causing pain that shouldn't.

The biggest bad habit I see in this area is that students over grab the violin bow as well as the fingerboard.

The other one is that students don't hold the violin properly, which causes problems with how they hold the instrument related to the neck.

In this video, I go over some of the common bad habits and after watching, you should be on your way to avoiding some bad habits related to getting pain with playing the violin.
