About this Violin Rosin Lesson
A popular question that I get all the time is how do you take violin rosin off?
The key to doing this effectively is to braze the backside of the bow hair to avoid getting dirt on the front side of the bow (where the hairs make contact with the strings).
A rule of thumb is you want to take enough rosin off to where there isn't a huge puff of rosin dust coming off of the bow hairs.
You can also test by touching the front of the bow hairs with the back of your finger. There should only be a very light streak - this tells you there is a perfect amount of rosin on the bow.
